Today’s card was inspired by tgifchallenges.com. This week’s color challenge was to make a project using the colors white, basic black and real red. I decided to use the Thoughtful Expressions set for this challenge and I think it turned out pretty cool.
Supplies:
- Thoughtful Expressions Stamp Set (or bundle if you have it)
- Sketched Plaid background stamp
- Black Cardstock measuring 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” plus a scrap to die cut leaves
- Real Red Cardstock measuring 3 3/4” x 5”
- White Cardstock measuring 3 5/8” x 4 7/8”, 4” x 5 1/4” (for inside) plus scraps to stamped images and sentiment
- Real Red and Black ink pads
- A couple daubers
- Red and black Stampin Blends
- Wink of Stella
- Dimensionals
- Adhesive/glue of choice
- Red rhinestones (optional)
directions
First, I stamped my Sketched Plaid blackground on my white Cardstock. I then glued that to the red Cardstock and attached it to the black card base. Next, I stamped my flower and hummingbird images from the Thoughtful Expressions stamp set in black ink. I used a combination of Blends and red and black ink on daubers to color my images. I then stamped my sentiment and die cut all my images, sentiment and leaves using the Thoughtful Expressions dies. These are now retired so if you didn’t snag the dies before they retired you can fussy cut the images and use whatever leaf and sentiment dies you have.
I then attached my sentiment with dimensions and the used a tape runner and dimensionals to attach my floral and hummingbird images. Next, I glued my black leaves, added some Wink of Stella to my images and then added some red rhinestones I had laying around (optional). Finally, I attached my white Cardstock to the inside.
I hope you enjoyed this fun color challenge. Be sure to leave a comment below and let me know what you think.
